Job Description Overview

You will lead a cohort of young adults through a semester-long internship program. You will be responsible for shepherding and leading these young adults in spiritual and professional development. You will be teaching introductory classes on the Biblical basis of missions, as well as the specific roles that are represented in Cafe 1040. The goal of your position is to guide young adults to help them understand how their gifts and passions can be used to further the Great Commission in any career. You will spend time focusing on spiritual development, setting interns up for success as they choose teams to serve on, as well as investing in their personal and professional development. You will have a personal relationship with each intern. Throughout the entire semester, you will lead the cohort through a semester-long professional project culminating in a focused mission trip.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed

  • A passionate follower of Jesus Christ with a proven devotion to the habits necessary to maintain a daily relationship with him

  • Possess a longing for the fulfillment of the Great Commission

  • Reflect personal and public integrity in line with Biblical principles

  • A desire to mentor and lead the next generation

  • Ability to communicate clearly in a classroom setting

  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Specific Job Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the application and interview process for interns

  • Guide interns through initial onboarding and support raising

  • Plan and lead the intern cohort retreat

  • Teach classes on the Biblical Basis of Missions, as well as what each team does within Cafe 1040

  • Teach professional skills as needed

  • Facilitate rich team-building time

  • Weekly or bi-weekly mentorship check-in on students and give guidance both spiritually and professionally

  • Attend organizational meetings

  • Lead the intern’s trip overseas

  • Communicate frequently with team leads, directors, and overseas staff
