OUR god is faithful

As I reflect back on the year and think of all that God did in 2019, the word that comes to my mind is FAITHFULNESS.  I see three aspects of faithfulness that must be present for any endeavor to succeed: 

1. God’s faithfulness;

2. The faithfulness of God’s people to join Him in His work;

3. The faithfulness of a ministry staff and board of directors to continue faithfully in the work God has called them to.

God has shown his faithfulness through all of the challenges and hardships. We do what we do for the sake of those who are still unreached. We believe that someone from every tribe, tongue and nation will be before his throne, and we wrestle with the fact that 3.1 billion humans, who are made in his image and are made to worship, are living without the hope of hearing and receiving The Good News of Jesus Christ. 

We will continue to do our work with a heart of gratitude.  We are grateful for God’s faithfulness and for the faithfulness of those who have joined us in making His name famous among all nations. You. We believe that you give, you pray, and you serve with us because you are following God, not us. He is directing your steps. But we also see your faithfulness in obedience to His direction. We are grateful for both.

The work of Cafe 1040 is difficult, not just because of the locations and the time zones.  Advancing the Gospel to where it isn't has always been hard work.  Furthermore, “we have been marketing an idea to an audience that doesn't know they want/need it, but when they do, it will cost them everything.” In other words, we have been helping a purpose driven generation take up the cause of the unreached and overcome the many, many obstacles keeping them from being Gospel messengers. But we too have been faithful in sticking with this difficult and enormous task. Many have served here at Cafe 1040 and others have continued their work when they no longer could. 

I have had the privilege of these last 20 years watching God be faithful, watching you be faithful, and leading a team of faithful people who have pushed this work forward with great personal sacrifice.  Faithful.  All three.
