Everything changes, but our Father stays the same

Written by a Cafe 1040 student

What do you think of when you look at the mountains and valleys?

Maybe you think about how you could never deny the existence of our Father or maybe you think of the mountains and valleys in your life or maybe about how mighty and power our Father is.

As I sat on a rock, looking at the mountains and valleys of Southeast Asia, with a local believer, I gained a whole new perspective on what to think when I look at them.

Our conversation started by me asking her when she looked around if it was just normal to her or if she was in awe of her surroundings.

Her responses went something like this:

"When I look at the mountains, I am reminded of how steady our Father is. The colors on the plants change, people are born and people die in the villages, everything changes, but like the landscape stays still; our Father is still. Everything changes, but our Father stays the same."

She went on to tell me that sometimes you think too much and then faith becomes harder than it should be. Our Father is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Don’t overthink it, because faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.

I will never look at mountain and valleys without being reminded that everything changes, but our Father remains the same.
