My Role In the Great Commission

"I met Chuck, the Founder of Cafe 1040, when he was on staff at North Point Community Church. We had many friends in common and quickly became friends ourselves. A few years later, my husband John and I moved to a city in north Florida. I sent out an email letting my friends in Atlanta know that I was relocating and invited them to stay with us on their way to the beach. That same year, Chuck’s family took us up on the offer, and their visit became an annual tradition.

Each visit, Chuck would share his heart for unreached people. Chuck would have in-depth conversations with John and point out strengths in my husband, who was a headmaster at a local school while working on his Masters in Apologetics.

Because we believed in taking the Gospel where it hasn't been yet, we began to financially support this ministry that aligned with our passion. We became monthly financial partners with Cafe 1040 in 2003, and through that partnership, our love for the unreached only grew stronger. We knew that we all have a role to play, and our role was to financially support the mission out of the blessings God had given us.

Eventually, my husband’s new friendship with Chuck, a passion for the unreached, and a similar love for college students led John to join Cafe 1040's mission! He now serves as a mobilizer and is using his strengths and desires to help students find their way to the mission field. For us, it all started by investing in a ministry that we believed in."

We all have a role to play.
