JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

You job will be to provide the necessary support for our team in a closed country as they mentor students who are considering long-term work among the unreached.  You will provide for the majority of the team’s administrative and logistical tasks.  Additionally, you will teach classes from our curriculum, lead trips to various international destinations, and encourage both our staff and students through their difficult 3 months of training.

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated ability to live and thrive in cross-cultural environments, including comfort with various forms of travel
  • Experience in planning and coordinating travel for groups preferred
  • General comfort in managing finances for a team
  • Ability to work in a detailed and organized manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to perform well under stress to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick-learning and self-teaching
  • Patient and adaptable disposition to changing circumstances

 SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage team finances including expense reports, per diem for students, and team cash flow
  • Plan and execute logistics for excursions with staff and students
  • Process routine logistical tasks for each semester (ex. Booking tickets, supervising housing check-in/out, applying for visas)
  • Supervise and produce team communications: periodic student updates, monthly team updates, photos/videos from staff and students, student videos, company instagram
  • Maintain the team calendar and provide assistance for scheduling
  • Manage team specific content on company systems such as Dropbox and Salesforce
  • Teach classes and create new curriculum
  • Minister to the students through various team outlets such as worship times and devotionals
  • Take notes for both archives and evaluations
  • Assist the Team Leader as needed
  • Maintain sustainable funding levels for role through Cafe 1040 support-raising model
  • Actively take the opportunities to mobilize those people in the scope of your influence toward involvement and investment in the mission and vision of Cafe 1040

This is a support-based position. Nothing in this job description restricts Cafe 1040’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.  Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.

LOCATION

In addition to our stateside operations, we work in three regions in undisclosed countries in North Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, we are not at liberty to discuss our location with just casually interested individuals.
